Bathroom caulk fails for two reasons: wrong product or bad prep.

Silicone vs acrylic vs hybrid

• 100% silicone: best water resistance, longest lasting, harder cleanup
• Acrylic/latex: easier cleanup, often fails faster in wet areas
• Hybrid: good middle ground, easier than silicone

For tubs/showers, silicone (or a good hybrid) is usually the move.

Prep (this is the secret)

1. Remove old caulk completely
2. Clean with isopropyl alcohol
3. Let it dry fully

Application tips

• Use painter’s tape for clean lines
• Smooth with a tool (or gloved finger)
• Let it cure (often 24 hours) before getting it wet
